Look who's famous (for today)

We gave a birthday shout out to Mac on a favorite site, and while it's a little late, it's still cute.

First photo credit goes to Raya Photography. Which reminds me, we'll soon have to share some of our photos from the shoot we had in Ojai with Raya, the pictures are amazing and had such a fun time with her.

Happy Monday!

Cozy Saturday

With his dad out of town, Mac and I made today a nice, relaxing day while it rained. These days, it's rare to catch him in a moment where he'll sit still, especially on the couch. These photos make him look like such a kid, rather than a baby too.

Our new dog

What? They got another dog? No, not really. While we dog sat for a few weeks, Macadam seemed to realize that the grass is greener for the four-legged set. That's right, meet our new puppy, little Mac.
He grabs most of his toys with his teeth then shakes them back and forth. If that's not enough, he pants when he's thirsty. It's hilarious but also slightly unsettling. We probably aren't helping matters when we grab onto whatever he's holding with our mouths but it's hard to resist.

Chili anyone?

As we venture into self-feeding, Macadam is finding he has a love for certain foods. The latest? Chili. He can't get enough. It's messy but finding a food he likes, is oh so worth it.

The festivities

Macadam's birthday celebration began a few days early with a party thrown in his honor last weekend and then continued on to his actual birthday on the 3rd with a lunch date with Grandma and Grandpa Fox who couldn't be at the party and then a more intimate celebration with his mommy and daddy.

He really did a great job at the party and it was really nice to have friends and family from near and far all in one place (thank you to the Mastans for letting us use their place as the venue too). I have never seen him so messy though, and it wasn't even from cake. A few slices of watermelon and it was the strongest natural adhesive I've seen. He didn't really know what to do with the cake (after trying to grab the lit candle) and after so much fruit and food, he didn't make it very far, which is probably good.
At lunch, he loved spending time with Grandma and Grandpa and Grandma Fox made the cutest cake for him - I loved that he grabbed the 1 that was on the cake!

By the time he was celebrating with us, I think he had gotten the idea that cake is good, but frosting is not. He devoured the baby cupcake and threw the frosting on the floor. Rob and I toasted a pretty fantastic first year, a marvelous little boy and looked forward to another year we can't wait to see unfold.

Happy Birthday Mac!

It's been one year since this incredible little person entered our lives and it's just inconceivable to think of life without him. Macadam is very much the sweet, mellow baby he's been from those early days, weeks and months. Yet, he's definitely started to show a more rambunctious, funny, and clever side. He loves to get people's attention, make them laugh with him, and be around others. He loves animals, music, dancing, milk, and seeing how loud he can make things when he hits them together (be careful when it's your hair or face in between those ginormous hands of his). I could easily go on and on about all the things Mac does and how much we love him but, I think you get it:).

Speaking of you - thank you. We feel so thankful for the people we have in our lives and feel that Macadam will be all the better for it. Our lifestyle, while busy and not for everyone, I believe has helped to make him a very adaptable, curious and social baby. His first year has been a busy one and so far, it appears his second one may be very much the same!

Here's a collection of photos we put together for his party, plus some more (more on that soon too) and they're simply him in all of his varied glory.
